Swedish Research Links Programme

The main aim with the Swedish Research Links program is to support research cooperation between Swedish scientists and scientists within selected low income-middle income countries.

The program offers grants for international collaborative research projects of high scientific quality and of mutual relevance for scientists in Sweden and scientists in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Africa, Latin America and Europe.

Eligible countries 2012

Sweden and the following countries:
Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Rep. Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Viet Nam
Middle East and North Africa (MENA): Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestinian adm. areas, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen
Africa: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia
Latin America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua
Europe:  Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldavia, Russia**, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine

Areas


The program is open to scientists in basic and applied research within all academic areas.
** Russia: Limited to research cooperation within the areas of democracy and human rights.

Applicants


The application is written jointly by scientists from at least two eligible countries. One of the applicants must be affiliated to a university in Sweden. The applicants must hold a doctoral degree.

Grant period  


Grants are awarded for a maximum of 3 years (2013-2015).  

Costs and grant amount


The grant may be used for joint activities, such as research visits between the partners, workshops, seminars, minor project costs and joint publications. The grant must not be used for salaries or scholarships.

You may apply for up to 250 000 SEK/year for a maximum of 3 years.

Conditions


Salaries and scholarships are not funded within this program.
