MAX IV – project process review, 2013

In accordance with the agreement from 2010 between the funders of the MAX IV Project (Lund University, the Swedish Research Council, Vinnova and Region Skåne), a panel was appointed to evaluate and follow up the project and the operations at the MAX IV Laboratory. The panel thinks that the MAX IV Project has made great progress and is staying on schedule to deliver light in three years. The lab was restructured recently and now has a more suitable organisation with a steering committee and a project coordination office.

The panel’s recommendations include that MAX IV should make efforts to attract more users and new users and initiate a long-term funding plan. The panel also recommends a stricter definition of the board’s role and a revision of the government decree (SFS 2011:1567).
