Producing a data management plan

All who are awarded a grant from the Swedish Research Council must have a data management plan if the research generates research data. The plan shall describe how data collected and/or created will be managed during the course of the research, and how they will be dealt with afterwards.

The Swedish Research Council and the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF) have developed a template with six central parts that a data management plan should cover. It is a partially reworked version of Science Europe’s template “Core Requirements for Data Management Plans”. Please feel free to use the template when you produce your data management plan.

Note! You shall not submit any data management plan to us.

Digital tool for data management plans

Sunet has a tool for data management plans. It is one of several possible alternatives that HEIs can use as a support to develop and maintain data management plans. Read more about the tool on Sunet's website (in Swedish)  External link.
