European call for future and emerging technologies
Two calls are open within the work programme Future and Emerging Technologies, FET, with 160 and 52 million euro each to apply for - deadline in September.
FET Open
Future and Emerging Technologies Open (FET Open) supports early stage science and technology research for radically new future technologies of any kind. The proposals should be cutting-edge high-risk / high-impact interdisciplinary research, and fulfill the essential characteristics (FET gatekeepers):
- Radical vision
- Breakthrough technological target
- Ambitious interdisciplinary research
FET Open has success rates above 10 percent and expected to increase further with the current budget. The research projects should consist of consortia of at least three partners from three different EU countries applying for up to 3 million euro.
Deadline for the next cutoff is September 18, 2019.

FET Proactive
In FET Proactive proposals are sought for cutting-edge high-risk / high-reward research and innovation projects that aim to demonstrate a new technological paradigm within the scope of pre-defined sub-topics. The research projects should consist of consortia of at least three partners from three different EU countries applying for up to 4 million euro. The subtopics are:
- Human-Centric AI
- Implantable autonomous devices and materials
- Breakthrough zero-emissions energy generation for full decarbonization
Deadline is 3 september, 2019.

European Innovation Council - Pathfinder
