The Swedish Research Council is funding the call Sustainability and resilience

In June, the Government decided that the Swedish Research Council shall no longer fund any new grant decisions under the Government grant for development research. However, now the initiative in sustainability and resilience will be funded after all.

The grant is a specific initiative which was announced jointly by the Swedish Research Council and Formas during the spring.

“To enable us to continue the preparation of the call and therefore provide opportunities for funding of ongoing research in the area, the Swedish Research Council’s Board has decided to set aside 5 million SEK per year for three years over the period 2024–2026. In this way, we can fulfil our agreement with Formas on funding,” says Katarina Bjelke, Director General of the Swedish Research Council.

Formas is earmarking 10 million SEK per year for three years, and the Swedish Research Council 5 million SEK per year for the project grant Sustainability and resilience – that is, 45 million SEK in total.
