Call for research proposals 2018: Mental health in children and youths within exposed groups

In March 2018, Forte, the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova will be issuing a joint call for research into mental health in newly arrived children and youths, and in children and youths with disabilities. The initiative will cover 150 million SEK in total over six years.

Initiative relating to mental health in children and youths within exposed groups

The mental health, participation and establishment in society of children and youths is one the great societal challenges of our times. For some groups of youths, the challenges are particularly strong. This spring, Forte, the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova are issuing a new joint call for research into mental health in newly arrived children and youths, and in children and youths with disabilities.

The research environments financed shall be interdisciplinary and be based on creative ideas with the potential of being developed into innovations. The research shall be conducted in collaboration between several research groups nationally and internationally, and when applicable also with actors within areas such as schools, health and medical care, business, etc., and with children, youths, parents and other relatives.

Joint initiatives have also been conducted previously

During the period 2012–2017, Formas, Forte, the Swedish Research Council and Vinnova carried out a joint initiative concerning research into the mental health of children and youths. At that time, 300 million SEK in total was set aside for research into the area.

The call in brief

Individual researchers with a Swedish doctoral degree or a corresponding foreign degree. You can only participate as applicant or participant in one single application under this call.

 

You may not apply for this grant if you have already been awarded or are simultaneously applying for another research environment grant, or a grant within the distinguished professor programme at the Swedish Research Council.

Nor may you apply for the grant if you have been recruited within the special initiative for international recruitment of prominent researchers.

Grant period

 3 years, with the opportunity of a 3 year extension
